HOW OUR GARDEN ROOMS ARE BUILT TO LAST

Foundations

At Northern Garden Rooms we will typically use the ground screw method for our foundations. This method offers a quick and cost effective solution that allows us to construct your garden room in almost any location whilst providing an extremely stable and long lasting base for us to build upon.

We would determine the correct base for your build on our site survey.

Structure

Your new garden room will typically be of a timber framed construction, fully wrapped in a high perfomrance breathable mebrane. This provides a long lasting solid build and mitigates condensation issues.

We have a number of cladding and finishing options for your garden room, our favourite being a high quality Canadian cedar to give the luxury look.

Insulation

All our garden rooms are built to current building regulations to ensure compliance with current "U value" requirements. This means your garden room will typically have at least 50mm of insulation but, as all our builds are entirely bespoke, we can upgrade this along with all other elements of your new garden room.

No planning permission is required for most garden rooms.

Doors & Windows

Again, as your garden room will be completely bespoke to you, we can install any type of doors and windows you would like, in any configuration you desire. Sliding doors, patio doors, half openers, full openers - if you imagine it, we can build it.

Anthracite UPVC is a popular option for the windows and doors although we personally like fitting "secret" doors!
